DJ CHRIS NICE – SHORT BIO

 

 

Following in his father’s footsteps, Chris Nice threw his hat in the ring taking his first steps to entering the music business and become a Dj in the 80s. Being too young to Dj in night clubs he took his art form to house and community centre parties all over the city of Montreal, Canada.  The years that followed were spent visiting record stores all over Montreal and New York City, with the goal of developing his own style and one day turning the passion into a profession. That dream became a reality when Chris Nice moved to the city of Toronto entering the club circuit in 1993 and never looked back. Chris Nice has now taken his extensive career in the music industry to beautiful Miami, Florida. Specializing in retro Funk/Disco, Classic R&B and Hip Hop, Dance Music, House Music, Latin Music, Reggae, Afro Beats, Soca Music and more. While residing in Toronto, DJ Chris Nice played at a countless number of legendary venues. While working as a club disk jockey in the 90s’ he was also a Mixshow Dj for WBLK 93.7FM in Buffalo New York. The title of the show was the Advanced Remix. From there Chris establish a promotional company by the name of Nubian Productions that went on to promote the first ever KC & JO JO concert in Canada, the LL Cool J concert along with a number of projects in Toronto and the U.S.

 

In 1997, Chris Nice co-founded Blazin Vinyl Record Pool that serviced radio and club DJs in Toronto, Montreal, Buffalo and Rochester, NY. He soon joined major concert promoters House of Blues (which became Live Nation) as co-promoter / opening concert Dj for the likes of The Black Eyed Peas, Mary J. Blige, Chaka Khan, Anita Baker, Musiq Soul Child, etc. Chris Nice was also instrumental in finding, marketing, and getting the artist Humble signed to his first record label. Humble then went on to become a 2009 Juno Award winner for Reggae Artist of the year (Canada’s Grammy Awards).

 

Chris Nice is also the former DJ for Jamaal Magloire (formerly of the NBA’s Miami Heat and Toronto Raptors) and his Toronto Revelers Mas Band annually on the parade route for the annual Toronto Caribbean Carnival, working with legendary Caribbean artist such as Machel Montano, Kes the Band, etc. Chris Nice is also an Event Planner and markets/promotes his own titled events (Caribana Rooftop BBQ Party, etc).  Chris also freelanced in street/night club promotions for Columbia Pictures, Universal Pictures, and Alliance Films in the city of Toronto for over 20+ years. Finally, for five years Mr. Nice was a member of a mentoring group, called The Malvern’s Men Group, that mentored young Men and Women in the community. Their goal was to put together one major charity event per year, assisting in the continuing improvement of our community. Now residing in Miami. Florida, with over 30 years in the business along with the ability to function well in a team environment, makes Chris Nice an asset to any organization he is affiliated with. In or outside the Entertainment industry.
